Regina High School JV Volleyball Team Claims Victory Over Bishop Foley
In a striking display of teamwork and skill, the Regina High School JV volleyball team emerged victorious in their regular season encounter against Bishop Foley Ventures on September 25, 2024. Hosted at the Madison Heights Bishop Foley Gym, the match concluded with Regina triumphantly sealing the win with a 2-0 scoreline.
The intense contest saw Regina dominate the first set, securing a 25-8 win, followed by a sweeping 25-16 victory in the subsequent set. Key performances included Junior Samantha Thomas, who led the team with 4 kills, and Sophomore Josie Evoy, contributing significantly with 2 kills and a block. Freshman standout Ava Culakovski also made crucial contributions, notching 5 aces and 3 digs, alongside securing 10 service points, marking a comprehensive contribution to the team's success.
The defensive efforts were highlighted by the digs from Ava Culakovski and the blocks by several players, ensuring the Ventures were kept at bay. Freshman Lilyana Pitters also played a pivotal role, delivering 4 assists during the match.
Reflecting on the team's performance, Samantha Thomas expressed her pride in their accomplishment:
"We had a really good game, and we kept the intensity after back to back games. Really proud of the team."
With this victory, the Regina JV team improved its season record to 4-1.
