Regina High Volleyball Secures Dominant Victory Over Bishop Foley
In an impressive display of skill and teamwork, Regina High School's varsity volleyball team claimed a decisive victory against Bishop Foley on September 25, 2024. The regular season Catholic High School League game, held at Bishop Foley, ended with a resounding score of Regina 3, Bishop Foley 0, marking another win for Regina in their undefeated CHSL season.
The Saddlelites showed their dominance right from the start, taking each set by a score of 25-16. Consistency was key in their performance, with standout performances across the board. Lilly Zdankiewicz, Marisa Vushaj, and Sara Wilking led the charge, each securing 7 kills. Zdankiewicz also topped the blocks chart with 3, contributing heavily to the team's defensive strength.
The game also saw significant contributions from players like Ella Sikorski, who made 9 digs, and Ava Janusch with 6 digs. Janusch, along with Sikorski and Cat Jenkins, added 2 aces each to their names, helping to keep the pressure on Bishop Foley throughout the match. Sara Wilking and Jenkins facilitated the offense with 12 and 8 assists, respectively.
After the game, Lilly Zdankiewicz reflected on the team's motivation, stating,
"We had a redemption attitude after our game on Tuesday. We wanted to prove ourselves, and we definitely got it done quickly."
This victory leaves Regina with a 4-0 record in the CHSL, looking strong as they head into their next challenge at the Marlette Tournament on September 28, 2024.
