Regina High School Saddlelites Shine at 25th Annual Royal Oak Relays
Regina High School's Track and Field team, the Saddlelites, delivered an impressive performance at the 25th Annual Royal Oak Relays held on April 14, 2025, in Royal Oak. The varsity girls' team faced a vigorous competition lineup, including teams from Berkley, Royal Oak, Rochester Adams, Rochester Hills Stoney Creek, Warren Mott, Clawson, and Troy Athens, yet they showcased their resilience and skill under sunny weather conditions.
The Saddlelites had standout performances in both track and field events. Ali Schoenherr set a new personal record (PR) in the 3200 Meters with a time of 15:39.76, backed by teammates Maya Colley and Arianna Haidar who also achieved personal bests of 16:12.48 and 16:39.71, respectively. In the hurdles, the team of Victoria Millett, Maddie Yezback, Victoria Johnson, and Elizabeth Ambroggio clinched an impressive timing of 1:19.66 in the 4x100 Shuttle hurdles. Another quartet consisting of Bailee Roth, Lucia Francuck, Sabrina Sokol, and McKenzie Ryska secured the 6th place in the 4x100 relay with a competitive time of 56.03.
In field events, Victoria Millett soared to 14' 2.5
" in the Long Jump, and the team also shined in the Discus, with Josie Evoy throwing to an impressive 54' 2"
and Gabbi Thomas reaching 42' 7
". Maddie Yezback, part of the hurdles team, expressed her thoughts on the event, saying, "
I thought the meet went really good and everyone should be very proud of themselves because their time reflect their amazing efforts."
Looking ahead, the Saddlelites are preparing for their next challenge at Warren Cousino High School on April 16, 2025, where they will compete against Warren Mott and Warren Cousino.
